The Brijuni Islands are a group of 14 islands and islets located on the west coast of Croatia. Their total area is only 7 km². In this area there is the Brijuni National Park, famous among others from geological-paleontological, archeological, safari, ethno park and lush Mediterranean vegetation.
Since the area is under protection, the entrance is paid and possible only as part of one of the trips proposed by the Park or organized by a local tourist agency. This place is extremely popular not only among tourists, but also newlyweds, who often decide to organize a wedding here.
The first people lived in the Brijuni Islands as early as the Neolithic era, thanks to which they abound in valuable historical and cultural heritage (the oldest buildings come from the times of the Roman Empire and Byzantium). On the island of Veli Brijuni was also the summer residence of Marshal Tito.
