The complex of buildings of the former municipal hospital, which was built in the fourteenth century, a few hundred meters from the defensive walls of Dubrovnik. All foreigners arriving in the city were subject to compulsory quarantine here for fear of the plague. A gallery of contemporary art has been operating in the Lazaret since 1988.
