Museum Fort Liezele

The historic fort dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. Currently, its restored interior houses a modern museum. There is a collection of uniforms, weapons, photographs and multimedia materials. To visit made available, among others command post, dispensary, ammunition warehouse and military kitchen.

The complex has a café, and a large observation deck on the roof, from which you can see the panorama of the surrounding landscape park. The terrace is not open to the public during the winter. The fort can be visited individually or with a guide, but for the latter option you must make a reservation in advance. From time to time, evening museum tours are organized in the museum under the atmospheric light of kerosene lamps.

The fort played a significant role during the First and Second World Wars. Until 1979, it was actively used by the army. In the meantime, he also served as a food warehouse.
