The baroque basilica was built in the 17th century according to the design of Lucas Faydherbe. Inside there are valuable paintings and sculptures, the most famous of which is a wonderful statue of the Virgin Mary. The figure is 1.45 m high and was made of walnut wood. Every year, numerous pilgrimages of the faithful take place there.
The church also has a carved pulpit made in 1746 by Teodor Verhaegen. At its base you can see life-size statues of Adam and Eve. At their feet lies a snake, and above them stands a bearded old man, symbolizing God the Father, points to the image of Mary and the Child. While visiting the temple, it is also worth paying attention to the stuccos decorating the vault and the busts of the church fathers: Ambrose, Augustine, Gregorius and Jerome standing in the niches.
There is a maze behind the church. It was built in 1892 during renovation works. It has been fully open to visitors since 2011.
