The historic, 16th-century church is part of the Beguinage founded in the 13th century. Its decor was inspired by Italian architecture. This is especially evident in the decorative arcades, painted in pastel colors at the beginning of the 20th century. You can see here about 50 paintings from the 17th century and depicting mainly the figures of saints.
In addition to the main altar, another noteworthy monument is also a quite raw pulpit built at the turn of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. There are also paintings by artists such as Jan Cossiers and Theodoor Boeyermans.
The facade, renovated at the beginning of the 21st century, is, in turn, a typical example of Baroque architecture. It consists of three levels, the lower of which are decorated with Corinthian and Doric pilasters. The upper part of the facade is topped with a bas-relief depicting God the Father, dated to the middle of the 17th century. Its author was probably Lucas Faydherbe.
