St. Jacob's Church

Local name: Sint-Jacobskerk

The first wooden temple dedicated to St. Jakub was founded in this place in the eleventh century - the current building dates from the first half XII century and is the oldest Romanesque church in Belgium. Inside, there are many priceless works of painting from the 16th and 17th centuries and the tomb of Jan Palfijn, the inventor of birthing ticks.
