Small Beguinage Our Lady ter Hoyen

A small beginner (seat of a secular religious congregation) was established in 1234 as a complex of wooden buildings. At the beginning of the 17th century, they were replaced by brick buildings that have survived to this day. The entire architectural ensemble, along with twelve other Flemish beginas, has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
