The shopping center was built in 1882 according to the design of Henri Riecko. Currently, it also has museum functions - baroque statues and carved hall decorations attract tourists on a par with the commercial offer. Du Nord is one of ten (only three preserved) 19th-century Brussels shopping arcades, which were created by roofing the streets.
