The 15-meter monument was erected in 1935 in honor of infantry soldiers who died in World War I - currently it also refers to the victims of World War II. Interesting are the sculptures of dogs, commemorating the quadrupeds, which served in the Belgian army as draft animals - they were harnessed to carts with heavy machine guns.
