The stadium, existing since 1923, bearing the name of national, is the venue for the final of the Belgian football cup and meetings of the Red Devils. The building also became famous as a place of tragic events on May 29, 1985, when 39 people died as a result of unrest caused by fans and 454 suffered serious injuries.
