The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, founded in the 18th century, is based in a monumental building from 1890, designed by Leopold De Waelplaats. The collection includes the largest works of Dutch and European painting from the fourteenth to the twentieth century. The permanent exhibition presents paintings, including van Eyck, Rubens, van Dyck, Fouquet or Modigliani.
