The 87.5-meter art-deco office building was built in 1933. It was then the first and thus the tallest tower block in Europe. 3400 tons of steel, 3.5 million bricks and over 3000 tons of cement were used to build it. Currently, Boerentoren has the status of a historic building, however, it has retained its former functional functions.
