Wettingen - Mehrerau Monastery

The history of this Cistercian abbey dates back to the 13th century. An extensive library, picturesque courtyard and stained glass windows draw attention. The monastery as the only one in Austria has the status of a territorial abbey, which means that it reports directly to the Holy See and not to the national hierarchy.
