Mihai Eminescu Park

Mihai Eminescu Park is a municipal park in Botosani, founded in 1869. In its central part there is an artificial lake with two picturesque bridges. Statues with busts of local notables and artists have been set up along the main alleys. There is also a summer pavilion, an open-air theater and sports fields.

The park was established as a public garden "Vârnav", even though it was privately owned. For the first year, its owner, Neculai Vârnav, charged an entrance fee. After a few years, the city authorities decided to buy the garden and transform it into a municipal park.
