Zosin-Kloster

The Zosin Monastery is an Orthodox monastery located in the village of Bălușeni. Within the monastery there is a historic wooden church from 1779, a new church built at the end of the 20th century, a brick belfry and a monastery house with a refectory, kitchen and guest rooms. The monastery was secularized in 1863 and was restored and restored only in 1990.

The older temple deserves special attention. It is one of the few churches of this type in Romania that has survived to the present day. Its walls were made of wicker twigs covered with clay, plastered both inside and out. Then they were whitewashed and covered with paintings. The entire building is shingled.
