Bodnant Garden
Bodnant Garden is a botanical garden and arboretum, where you can find plants from around the world, from the Himalayas to the Andes. It houses the largest collection of British champion trees in Wales. The highest Chinese meta-rollers also grow here. The Winter Garden has been operating here since 2012. In the garden there are also two restaurants, pavilions and a tea room, as well as kiosks with drinks. Picnic places have been created here, and cultural events and workshops are regularly organized.
The garden was founded in 1874 by Henry Davis Pochin, a Victorian industrial chemist. He gained fame and fortune when he invented the process of clarifying rosin used in soaps, changing it from traditional brown to white. The next five generations of the Pochin family cared for the garden's development, and in 1949 it was handed over to the National Trust.
