Scarborough Castle
Scarborough Castle in Great Britain is a stronghold ruins from the 12th century, popular among tourists because of its beautiful location: the building is located on a seaside promontory, towering over the city of Scarborough. The castle is on the list of monuments in Great Britain.
The castle was founded on the initiative of Wilhelm Ie Gros, although archaeological research indicates that in this place at the North Sea military buildings already existed during the Roman Empire. The castle itself was used repeatedly during hostilities, including during the First Civil War in England.
Today, this place is a popular tourist destination, providing its visitors with viewing platforms and a dose of knowledge: in the castle there is an exhibition presenting a collection of local artifacts.
