Royal Pavilion

The Royal Pavilion is a historic royal residence with exotic architecture. Is one of the most important examples in Europe of the so-called Indiosaracan style. The current appearance of the residence, with its domes and minarets, is the work of architect John Nash, who expanded the building in 1815. The pavilion is open to the public, but you cannot take photos there, because many of the items found here belong to Queen Elizabeth II and are only on loan.

The residence is adjoined by gardens known as the Royal Pavilion Garden. They were restored to the state of the nineteenth century and the original vision of John Nash. The garden is maintained using only ecological methods. Often, especially in the summer, you can meet street artists. There is also a café in the garden.

The residence was built as a convalescence place for the Prince of Wales, George. Construction of the pavilion began in 1787 and was carried out in three stages, finally ending in 1823.
