Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park was created to protect the habitats of rare animal species and because of the diversity of the landscape. The park's main attraction is Loch Lomond, which hosts numerous sporting events, including The Scottish Open. Cruises are organized on the lake, and the famous Maid of the Loch floats here. Golf courses and bicycle paths were also built here.

The park was established in 2002, which makes it the first national park in Scotland. There are several ranges of hills and fifty-seven nature reserves. It covers an area of almost 1900 thousand. km2, which makes it the fourth largest national park in the British Isles. West Highland Pass runs through it, one of the Scottish long distance routes.
