FIFA World Football Museum
Local name: FIFA World Football Museum
The FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich has existed since 2016. You can see a rich exhibition showing the history of football in the world (1000 objects of various types). The exhibits included, among others the referee's notes from the match between England and Argentina at Wembley in 1966 (World Cup quarter-finals).
Interesting exhibits include the voodoo figurine, which comes from the African country of Benin, where it is believed that items of this type have wonderful power and are able to influence the result of the match. A blocked whistle, according to local beliefs, controls the referee's decisions, while padlocks and chains are to keep opponents away from the goal.
