Scuol is a year-round holiday and thermal spa located at the foot of the Alpine three-thousanders. There are about 20 mineral springs here, used in a modern spa complex, and around the town you can take advantage of several dozen kilometers of ski slopes.
Scuol's mineral and thermal waters have been known since the Middle Ages. Mention of them can be found in the chronicles. However, until the beginning of the 20th century, the village was focused mainly on pastoralism and agriculture. The situation was changed only when a railway line was connected, which made it possible for patients and then tourists looking for a place to rest in the mountains to get here.
The spa in Scuol is based on the hot mineral waters flowing here. At the end of the 20th century, a large spa center was built in its center with swimming pools, saunas, massage and biological regeneration rooms.
Both in winter and summer, Scuol is a center of active tourism. In winter, there is a ski resort with over 70 km of slopes for mogul and freeriding. There is also a snow park and a winter playground with numerous snow equipment. In summer, on the other hand, there are numerous hiking trails. An additional attraction of Scuol is the perfectly preserved traditional buildings, the Gothic church of St. George and the regional museum located in the house from 1516.
