Local name: Seebad Lungern
The village lies at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level and is the highest village in the Sarner Valley. The first mention of the village comes from the tax register from 1275. Currently, the village of Lungern has about 1950 inhabitants. The most important monuments of the village are a church and five chapels, a passenger tram and an underground shooting range.
