The castle is a monument that remains a Swiss heritage of national importance. There is speculation that it might have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci himself. It is located on the edge of the old town and was built in the 12th century, probably as the residence of Captain Orelli. Currently, the stronghold is an archaeological museum.
