Montebello Castle
Local name: Castello di Montebello
The castle is one of three medieval fortresses in the city of Bellinzona, which since 2000 are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It probably dates back to the 13th century and was built by the Rusca family. In the 17th century a chapel was added to existing structures. In 1974, a suspended steel structure was built to house the Citizens' Museum.
