City Museum Aarau

The art museum of the Aarau region is located within the walls of the 13th century Schlössli castle. The expansion according to the Herzog & de Meuron architects project allowed to combine the old fortress tower and the modern entrance zone. In the museum you can admire the permanent exhibition that tells the old life of the inhabitants of Aarau. An important element of the exhibitions are also photographs, films and other major media of the 20th century.
