Sweden's largest swamp area was protected in 1982. The park covers 77 km2 of wet meadows, peat bogs, lakes and dune islands. It is home to Sweden's largest breeding ground for cranes. Visiting the wetlands is possible thanks to the numerous hiking paths and observation towers.
