The Evolutionsmuseet in Uppsala is a natural history museum that owns the richest collection of fossils in all of Scandinavia. The collection consists of zoological, palaeontological and mineralogical collections. One of the most valuable exhibits is the teeth of a Peking man.
The museum has been divided into three parts, each of them is located in a different building. The zoological part is located in a historic building from 1917, designed by Ture Stenberg and Victor Holmgren. In the paleontological part, you can see the remains of Chinese dinosaurs, it is one of the largest collections outside of China.
The first museum with this profile was established in Sweden as early as 1600, at that time its collection consisted of items donated by donors, such as Charles Linnaeus - a Swedish naturalist and doctor. The modern museum has been operating since 1999, it is part of the Center for Evolutionary Biology (EBC).
