Simlångsdalen is a small town adjacent to two lakes, Simlången and Breared. It is known for the book by Fredrika Strom, People from Simlångsdalen, published in 1903.
The town is a good base for people who like to spend time actively. In the past, it was located on the railway line, but it was closed in 1966. Currently, there is a walking and bicycle route along the tracks of the railway.
The main attraction of Simlångsdalen and the surrounding area is the Danish Waterfall Nature Reserve. The Danish Waterfall is a picturesque cascade on the Assman River, which is a frequent destination for excursions. The lakes of Simlången and Breared provide excellent conditions for relaxation. There is Brearedssjön beach with a bathing area. You can also go boating and canoeing, and walking and cycling around the lakes.
