The Siljansfors Forest Museum is located in the Mora commune and is dedicated to the local forest industry and the history of the iron smelter operating here in the years 1738-1876. The main building houses exhibition halls and a restaurant. In the vicinity, you can see the ruins of a blast furnace for smelting iron ore from the 1830s.
The sightseeing route runs through a forest workers' camp from the 1920s, iron bar forges, horse stables, dams and canals, which are part of the floating trail used to transport the felled trees. The cutting was carried out mainly for the needs of the steelworks.
There are several well-marked forest trails around the museum, including an educational trail for younger children. The routes are 1 to 5 km long.
