The Malmö Art Museum is one of the largest in Scandinavia. Its collection includes approximately 40,000 works from the 16th century until today. They include one of the largest Swedish Nordic art collections of the 20th century and a valuable collection of Russian art from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Among the collected works, you can see works by such artists as Barbro Bäckström, Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd and Gunnar Norrman. There is an extensive collection of works by the Swedish landscape painter Carl Fredrik Hill, with over 2,600 drawings and paintings.
The museum's collection includes an extensive collection of handicrafts, mainly from the south of Sweden. Among others, painting from the Skåne area, supplemented by Swedish art from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
During the visit, it is also worth paying attention to the organ from the end of the 15th century, originally located in the oldest church in Malmö, Sankt Petri Kirke.
