The national park created to protect the Scandinavian Mountains has been entered - along with the adjacent Sarek, Muddus and Padjelanta reserves - on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The greatest attractions of the protected areas are glaciers, waterfalls and fragments of the primeval spruce forest.
