The Oscar Frederick Church in Gothenburg was built in 1893 according to the design of the architect Helgo Zettervall. Its architecture is dominated by the northern European brick neo-gothic style. The 75-meter-high tower, one of the tallest buildings in the city, attracts attention. It is decorated with a pointed helmet and decorative gargoyles.
The interior of the church is decorated in green colors. There is a baptismal font and a wooden pulpit from the end of the 19th century. While visiting the church, you can see numerous wall paintings, neo-Gothic stained glass windows and the main altar. It was made in the 1940s and its appearance clearly refers to the medieval style.
The church was named after the King of Sweden and Norway, Oscar II Frederick Bernadotte. The monarch visited the temple in 1898 and signed it in the memorial book.
