The museum was opened in the first half Of the twentieth century in the Carthusian monastery, where Fryderyk Chopin and George Sand lived in the winter of 1838-1839. In his collection there are souvenirs of the famous composer and his partner. The most interesting exhibits include: a lock of Fryderyk Chopin's hair and an original Pleyel piano.
