The historic aqueduct belongs to the best preserved remains of the presence of the Romans on the Iberian Peninsula. It consists of 167 arches, partly reconstructed in the 15th century. The aqueduct was built of granite blocks that are connected to each other without the use of mortar. The building was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
