A Romanesque monastery founded around 1150 by San Ero, a nobleman who, according to legend, was ordered by the Virgin Mary. He allocated one of his palaces for this purpose. In the 12th century, the monastery became part of the Cistercian Order. Its walls are characterized by architectural austerity. The distinctive element is the decorated facade.
