Ibiza is the capital of the island of the same name. It is a popular, especially among young people, resort famous for its attractive beaches and lively nightlife.

The city has its origins in antiquity, and during the Middle Ages there was a large port here. The Upper Town, that is Dalt Vila, entered on the UNESCO list, is full of monuments documenting the rich history of Ibiza. The city is surrounded by 16th century defensive walls, and inside you can see a maze of picturesque streets with white and stone houses. The city's most valuable monument is the 13th century Cathedral of Santa María La Mayor in Ibiza. In its sacristy you can see collections of sacred art and liturgical objects from different eras.

Below Dalt Vila there are two districts, Sa Penya and Marina. In the past, both were separate fishing villages, and today it is here that the entertainment and nightlife of Ibiza is concentrated. Sa Penya has hotels, guesthouses and numerous clubs, as well as a rather narrow city beach. People looking for better sunbathing opportunities should go outside the city, where you can come across heavenly places to relax at almost every step.

The Marina district, on the other hand, is concentrated around the former fishing port. Today, Port d'Eivissa is a lively and very fashionable place with many pubs, bars and clubs. Yachts and excursion boats are moored here. The Park de la Pau is also a good place to rest in the lower part of the city.

People who like to visit can go to one of the further districts of Ibiza, where the Phoenician Necropolis Puig des Molins from the 7th century BC is located
