The area where the botanical garden is currently located belonged to the Jesuits until the second half of the 18th century, they cultivated a vegetable garden here. After their expulsion from Grenada, the area was taken over by the city's university and began to serve for scientific purposes. Today you can admire here, among others Ginkgo biloba planted first on the Iberian Peninsula.
