This fragment of the defensive walls is a monument from the 18th century, the author of the building design was the Spanish architect Torcuato Cayon de la Vega. The tower was built in the second half of the nineteenth century, it was one of the points of the optical telegraph line, through which information was transmitted between Cádiz and Madrid.
