Monument commemorating the adoption of the first constitution in Spain (Constitution of Cadiz) in 1812. The Act introduced, among others restrictions on the king's rights and freedom of the press. Work on the monument began on the 100th anniversary of the constitution, the authors of the design were: architect Modesto López Otero and sculptor Aniceto Marinas.
