Palauet Albéniz in Barcelona was founded at the beginning of the 20th century on the Montjuïc Hill in connection with the World Exhibition, it represents the neoclassical style. Today it is the official residence of the royal family. The building is surrounded by the extensive gardens of Joan Maragall with beautiful decorative fountains. The interiors were designed in the Empire style, they are decorated with tapestries by Francisco de Goi. The name of the palace is associated with the figure of the outstanding Catalan composer - Isaac Albéniz.
For the first time, the royal family stayed at the residence during the World Exhibition in Barcelona, which took place in 1929. Today, the king always lives here during visits to the capital of Catalonia. Official galas and parties are organized in the palace.
The palace was built of brick and stone, the design was inspired by 18th-century French architecture. One of the rooms is an exact copy of the mirror gallery in the royal palace in Warsal. The building is topped with slate roofs.
