Cable car station Štart
Local name: Stanica lanovky Štart
Start is one of the two intermediate cableway stations from Tatranska Lomnica to Szczyt Łomnica. It is located at an altitude of 1173 m above sea level. It was built according to the design of Dusan Jurkovic in the 20th century.
The name of the station comes from the bobsleigh track and its initial gate in the past. With time, it was accepted to call the same cable car station. After the modernization of the railway and the introduction of gondola cars, the route was straightened, and the building ceased to be used as intended. A restaurant and scooter and three-wheel stroller rental service is currently operating here.
It is a stone building with a roof inclined towards the slope, simple and raw. Until 2004, it was in a forest that was completely destroyed by a hurricane wind.
