Vígľaš Castle is now a modern hotel The Grand Vígľaš. The ruins of the 14th-century castle were completely reconstructed, which allowed the opening of a modern hotel in 2014. In the same year he received the audience award in the national competition for the building of the year.
The castle is located in Vígľaš, in the central part of Slovakia. He comes from the fourteenth century, when he served the king during his hunting expeditions to the area. In the face of threat from the Turkish side, it was fortified and surrounded by a moat. Then it was owned by various noble families, until in 1690 it was taken over by the Esterhazy family, which transformed it into a luxurious baroque residence. During World War II, a significant part of the castle burned down. Investor ingenuity saved him from total ruin.
The hotel is now located in the former castle walls and offers its guests luxury apartments and a wide range of Wellness and Spa. It is also open to the public for unaccustomed guests.
