Slovak Paradise National Park is one of the most important landscape attractions of Slovakia. It is located in its northern part. It is a vast plateau, whose slopes are cut by deep valleys (rock plants). The biggest attraction of this area are trails along ladders and overhangs that lead to the expropriated surface.
Slovak Paradise is part of the Ore Mountains in Spiskie and is located south of Poprad and Levoca. It is a mountain group built of limestone, forming a vast plateau, called the Monastery from the Carthusian monastery located here in the past. Its ruins are one of the attractions of the area.
Slovak Paradise does not offer particularly extensive views. The surface is mostly covered with forest. The main attraction are gorges and valleys hollowed out by water. Overcoming them is possible thanks to ladders, buckles and chains. One-sided traffic applies to them. Within the park there is also the picturesque Hornadu Gorge. The trail leading along its banks is located on metal shelves attached to the rocks, called stupacks.
