The 16th century punishment tool is now a tourist attraction - you can go inside and take a souvenir photo. Originally, the convicts were exposed to public view during holidays and fairs. Any decent citizen could easily convict, spit or hit him with impunity. Unfaithful wives were most often locked up in a cage.
