The narrow-gauge mountain railway transports passengers from Sovata to Câmpu Cetății. The route is 14 km long and leads through a picturesque forest and meadows. The round trip trip usually takes between 1.5 and 2 hours.
The queue is driven by a steam locomotive, and the train consists of 3 carriages with a length of 11 to 12 m. The oldest car comes from 1953, and the rest from 1985 and 1991. All three cars were renovated at the beginning of the 21st century. Currently, they can accommodate approx. 90 passengers.
The cable car route was built in 1915 and was initially 82 km long. It ceased to be used for transport in 1995. For tourist purposes, rail travel was reactivated in 2011. It is worth mentioning that the locomotive was built in 1949 in a Polish factory in Chorzów.
