Cheile Nerei National Park - Beușnița
Local name: Parcul Naţional Cheile Nerei - Beușnița
The national park was established in 2000. It covers a mountainous area along the middle course of the Nera River and its tributaries. There are, among others mountain peaks, caves, valleys, waterfalls, meadows and pastures. Due to the great variety of habitats, there is a great variety of fauna and flora.
Among others, brown bears, deer, roe deer, wild boar, wolves, lynxes, badgers and wildcats. Among the birds, you can meet golden eagles, lesser spotted eagles, honey buzzards, harriers and several species of woodpeckers. There are also vipers, salamanders, lizards, toads and toads.
Several hiking trails of varying difficulty run through the park. They include an easy route that can be covered in 2 hours, but there are also routes intended only for experienced hikers, and they can take more than 12 hours to complete.
