The Calouste Gulbenkiana planetarium is located in the Belem district in the vicinity of the Jeronimos Monastery. There are shows about the solar system, the universe and stars with Portuguese, French and English commentary.
The planetarium was built in 1965. It is financed by the Arou millionaire Foundation of Calouste Gulbenkian. It is a modernist building with a high dome, where shows take place. You can choose between the following themes: Solar System, Moon, Earth, Star Constellations, Star Evolution, Cosmos and Sun.
