The Belem Lighthouse is a small stone and brick building. It stands at the waterfront, near the famous Belem Tower. It is a closed lighthouse, preserved as a souvenir of the former navigation system.
Many objects served as a lighthouse in Belem. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the Belem Tower was used for this purpose. The lighthouse comes from the first half of the 20th century. It is built on a circular projection. It is built alternately of stone and brick strips. Today, its upper part is only a metal frame, in which formerly there were lenses and a reflector sending light signals.
