Castle of Elvas

A medieval stronghold built on the Spanish border for defense in the event of an invasion. It stands on an isolated hill with a beautiful view of the countryside. It was built in the 12th century in the place of the Moorish castle on a polygonal plan with numerous towers and a tower reinforced with towers. The castle is open to the public, during which you can see some of the chambers, passages to the bastions and fragments of the underground.
