The mountain hiking trail connects the two highest peaks of Madeira, Pico Ruivo (1861 m) and Pico Areeiro (1817 m). It crosses the Central Massif and the area belonging to the Natura 2000 network. During the journey you can observe picturesque landscapes and jagged rock formations. The route is quite difficult and requires physical preparation.
